We source the fruit for this Syrah from Cedarville Vineyards, an organically farmed vineyard grown at 2500 feet elevation. We made this wine to showcase the difference in character between our Amador Syrah and a Syrah grown at a higher elevation.
This high elevation Syrah is slightly opaque in color, with a burgundy-purple hue. It has medium to low acidity and medium tannins. The nose has aromas of forest floor, mushroom, and berries. The palate is both meaty and floral, with flavors of spicy black pepper, blueberry, and cherry. A lengthy finish with notes of sweet oak and baking spice rounds out this deep and balanced wine.
